It's starts out with a gengle slope and a little bit of cover. A man with a map. No so dangerous at the beginning, but very dangerous towards the end of any hike.

It gets a bit steeper and there is almost no shade. At the vista point. Time to eat and relax.

Riffi has the relaxing part down to an art. Looking towards the observatories at the top of Mount Hamilton.

It would have been a lot more scenic without the smog and fog. Just about time to get hiking again. We're less than half way through.

But I'm not going to be the one to try to waken Riffi. The gang gathers around as Kathy threatens to sit on Riffi if she doesn't get going.

Riffi is up. Yea! Riffi wants to check out just how heavy those legs of Kathy were, in case she really had sat on her.

Half asleep, Riffi doesn't really notice the gorgeous scenery around her. The Live Oak is always interesting to study.

And lots of treasures are hidden, if you look for them. Though sometimes you have to go off trail a bit to see what's hidden under the next log or behind the next rock.

Woodpeckers be here. Riffi tries to take another nap.

It's a bit squishy at the bottom of the mountain. Only a couple of miles left to get back to where we started. There are lots of "pom pom" trees at this time of year.

The jawbone of a previous hiker that tried to stop for one too many naps along the way. Steve checks out the "fixer upper" for sale in the area.
