August 24, 2008 Hidden Villa
Wimble Scale: Easy, Length: 3.9 Miles, Climb: 820 feet, Time: 2.5 hours
The announcement
This weekend should be another great hike. We leave here at 9 and hike Hidden Villa. There are 3 or 4 options on this hike, from the easy to the hard. We’ll scale the hike for those that show up, but we expect a high-end moderate to low-end hard, at least. This should be about 2.5 to 3 hours of hiking, almost all covered. Following that, expect the usual post hike food event.
The hike
Hidden Villa was a pretty as always, you should have been there. Plus, though I was turned down at the last minute as a candidate for the Olympic decathlon competition, I demonstrated my various techniques to those who hiked with me. Pictures will be forthcoming when I find time to get the web site up to date. Until then, you can ask those who came along for their scores and impressions of my performances in shot pot, pommel horse, javelin throw, high jump and uneven parallel bars.
