The announcement
This week is another wildflower hike—Russian Ridge. It’s at the junction of Highway 9 and and Page mill Road. The plan is for a moderate hike, but we can vary it from lower end moderate to upper end moderate, depending on who shows up. And, if someone wants an easy hike, you can do part of the hike with us, and finish with a shorter loop.

Russian Ridge has the potential to be the best wildflowers we’ll see this year.

Join us at 9 at our house, or meet us at the trail head just before 10. Plan on about 3 hours of hiking with a snack along the way. The trail is largely uncovered, but only a few bits are likely to present any poison oak problem.

The hike
Last week was nearly the end of the wildflower hikes. It was pretty hot up on Russian Ridge and the flowers, while hardly at their best, were ample and beautiful. We did, however, have another trail accident, mostly to one of our hiker’s pride.

Here are a few pictures from the hike.
