The Announcement

We certainly earned those weight-watcher points last weekend. It may not have been a long hike, less than 3 hours, but it was sure steep in places. We climbed that 1400 or more feet fairly quickly. Then there was my "stupid decision" involving the stream. If you weren't there, you'll just have to hear about it at the next hike.

And we'll make it easy for you. We thought we'd throw in an easy hike again. No excuses now for all you sluggards that haven't been out since last fall. Here's your chance to get back into it again so you'll be ready for the spectacular wild flower hikes we'll be doing in March and April.

We plan on doing the Bear Meadow, Zinfandel Loop, with a stop at the Picchetti Winery. We leave here at 9 and begin the hike around 9:30. Plan on 2 to 2.5 hours. It's an easy hike, with one steep but very short section. Wear long pants if you are extremely sensitive to poison oak -- it sometimes creeps out onto the path. More than 2/3 of the hike is covered.
