Rating:

Wimble Scale: Difficult, Length: 7 miles, Climb: 1400 feet, Time: 3 hours

The Announcement

This weekend, we'll do Sunol Regional Wilderness. Which hike we do will depend on who shows up. There are easy to hard hikes there. We might even finally do the upper loop that we almost managed earlier. This time, we shouldn't have to worry about the heat. Plan on bringing lunch, though we'd certainly consider going to Fudrucker's afterwards as well. Plan on at least 3 hours of hiking - so bring enough water. The hike is only partly covered, so wear your sun block. The trails are mostly wide and well maintained. Poison oak encroaches on some of the early parts of the trails. Some of the harder hikes involve walking in steep, deeply gouged out cow paths, with encroaching thistles. So, long pants might be a good idea. There may be some mud, so don't bring sneakers.

The Hike

There were several trails taken as the group broke up into 4 groups that each took different paths. The distance and climb figures above were for just the path taken by the largest group.
