The Announcement

We'll be hiking in Golden Gate Park.

This is the same day that the AIDS walkathon is happening. We will not be hiking in that walk, but I chose this day because they park is filled will all sorts of interesting additions during this walk: bands, food stands, entertainment, etc.

We'll leave here a 9 and park on the Great Highway near the Martin Luther entrance to the park. The hike will begin about 10. You may want to bring water and a snack, or we'll just pick up stuff along the walk. Plan on 3 or 4 hours of easy hiking. We may eat lunch in the Park, or we may go to Cliff House afterwards - we'll just see what we feel like.

A fun, easy hike with lots of things to look at, so bring those cameras. We'll see if the Conservatory of Flowers is open, we'll see what happened to the M.H. de Young Museum. We may take in the Japanese Tea Garden, we'll definitely see the rose garden and the arboretum. Maybe we'll see some of the sections we've never seen before.
