The Announcement

On Sunday, June 15, we plan on a harder hike. Current thinking is we'll go to Highway 9 and 35 and take the old Stage Road Trail. Actually, we'll probably go through the residential section towards the backpack camp, down into the valley, across the swamp, and back up the Stage Road Trail. This is a lot of down followed by a lot of up. The down is largely exposed, and the up is pretty much all covered. Down is single track, so you need to watch out for poison oak. Up is fire roads - nice and wide.

Plan on 3 to 4 hours. Bring at least two large water bottles, snacks, and lunch. This hike goes through several different biomes, so we'll see lots of different kinds of plants.

As usual, we'll leave here at 9. We'll begin around 9:45 at the trailhead.
