Two new hikers in the group this week. And they're happy so far. There are no caves to climb into here, so Riffi climbs a rock instead.

Molly pats the rock, to make friends with it. Mike helps fill in the rock formation to make a cave for Riffi.

A break for equipment adjustment. Kathy makes up a story about the history of the area. They've never been here before - what do they know?

One of those "gentle slopes" the guide book talks about. Judy, Kathy, Peggy and Molly descend from the local high spot.

A turkey vulture watches us. Or maybe he smells us. Resting at Riffis "secret spot".

It's all downhill from here to "Little Yosemite". Still, it's quite a descent yet to get down to "Little Yosemite".

Drinking water, if you're thirsty enough. Little Yosemite area.

Some of the many dog owners we passed today. Kathy's shadow puppet show of vultures swooping down on hikers.

Climbing back up to the ridge line from Little Yosemite, we find the trail is now overrun with cows. Just to be safe, we give them a wide berth.

But if the cows are really hungry, we leave behind other hikers that they can eat. Kathy points out one of the larger meadow muffins while Judy turns around to hurl one last taunt at the cows.

And one of the cows hurls a taunt back at Judy. Larry goes one-on-one with a cow. He says, "Are you mooing at me? I don't see anyone else, so you must be mooing at me."

Riffi gives Robin a little pat on the behind to get her moving faster past the cows. There's always one in the group. Elsie needs to give one last toot of her horn before we leave their pasture area.
