Sunday, March 2, 2003 Grant Ranch

Rating:

Wimble Scale: Difficult, Length: 6.6 miles, Climb: 1200 feet, Time: 3.5 hours

The Announcement

Sunday is a harder hike - Grant Ranch. We don't know what the wild flower status is there, but it's a perfect time of year to get out there.

We'll leave here at 9, start the hike at about 10, and do anywhere from 2 to 4 hours, depending on who shows and how ambitious we feel. There are several trail options there, which we'll decide upon once we get there. Almost all trails are mostly exposed. If we do one of the hard options, the trails are very steep in places - sneakers would be very bad, sticks would be good. The trails are all wide and well maintained. The wild pigs are also wide, and not so well maintained.

See the web site (http://www.webself.com/~fomfok) for previous hikes in those areas, if you want to get a feel for what to expect.
