Windy Hill Preserve

This was the last training hike before the big Fall Creek Unit hike/train ride that should happen in two weeks. The hike was nearly 8 miles and about 1200 feet of climb, which we did in about four and a half hours. By comparison, the Fall Creek Unit hike will be about 8 miles, with something between 1400 and 1900 feet of climb, assuming we take the whole loop. This hike is "hard" on the Wimble Scale, but as everyone had been on a few hikes with the group, and since it doesn't take too many hikes to get in shape, everyone made this hike rather handily. Kathleen introduced a new catch phrase, "Never pass up a bench". And, with seven benches along the trail we took, we had lots of opportunity to sit. The weather was just perfect, and the air was clear, allowing us to easily see the ocean and even San Francisco.
