Golden Gate Park

Our first urban hike of the 2002 season. This was Kathy's choice for her birthday hike. We began at Ocean Beach, near the nothern windmill, and hiked up to the Hall of Science and back, catching a lot of the sites along the way.

We took a couple of trails that were rather less travelled by. We plotted to infiltrate some of the picnics and get some food. Zona, as usual, tried mightily to to find some poisonous animal to pick up and show us. Sherman won the "Does anyone know where we parked the car?" contest. Patti set a new record for most attempts at getting into Golden Gate Park on a Sunday, when the streets are blocked off. Mike, Zona, Ron, Sherman and Wendy managed to all pack inside of a photo booth at the Museé Mechanique. Larry nearly broke the strength tester machine in there.

We ended the hike at the Cliff House with a great meal followed by a great dessert.
